Arrival & Getting Ashore

Getting to the centre: Match your transport plan to the terminal shown in your cruise documents.

  • Marina Bay Cruise Centre: the operator describes a 650 m walk from its arrival lobby area to Marina South Pier MRT station. Metered taxis and ride-hailing pickup are also provided.
  • Singapore Cruise Centre, HarbourFront: use HarbourFront MRT station on the Circle or North-East line. The current operator directions use Exit B and a signed route via HarbourFront Tower 1 to the new terminal.

Directions checked 2026-09-25. These are connections to rail stations, not walking distances to the principal sightseeing areas.

The HarbourFront terminal's new address is 5 HarbourFront Avenue. Singapore Customs records the move taking effect on 15 July 2026. Marina Bay Cruise Centre remains a different destination at 61 Marina Coastal Drive.

Ocean ships dock at the cruise berths. Follow your ship's instructions through the terminal's arrival process before heading for transport. The time a ship comes alongside is not the time you will necessarily reach the street.

About this port

Singapore's ocean-cruise passengers need to distinguish Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore from Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront. They are separate facilities with different rail connections. HarbourFront also moved into a new terminal in July 2026, so an old set of directions through the former terminal may send you to the wrong place.

A day ashore works best around a main district or attraction. Choose the Marina Bay gardens and waterfront, or a Chinatown food-and-streets outing, then add another stop only after allowing for the journey back to your actual terminal.

Getting Around

Use the MRT station appropriate to your terminal to plan the first journey, and save the return route before leaving. The similar names Marina Bay, Marina South Pier and Marina Bay Cruise Centre identify different places; reaching a station with "Marina" in its name does not mean you have reached the ship.

For Gardens by the Bay, the attraction directs visitors from Bayfront MRT Exit B through the underground linkway and across Dragonfly or Meadow Bridge. It also lists Gardens by the Bay station, Exit 1, beside Satay by the Bay. Choose the entry that suits the part of the gardens you intend to visit.

A taxi can simplify the terminal connection when walking to rail is inconvenient. At Marina Bay Cruise Centre use the marked ground-transport area; at HarbourFront specify the new Singapore Cruise Centre terminal, not just the wider HarbourFront precinct.

Things to Do

Gardens and the bay: make Gardens by the Bay the main visit, with time for a meal and a waterfront walk. Decide which ticketed areas interest you before booking; travelling there and moving through a large garden are separate parts of the day. Avoid promising yourself every attraction simply because they share one address.

Chinatown and food: explore the district and use Maxwell Food Centre at 1 Kadayanallur Street as a meal stop. Its stalls offer an alternative to booking a long sit-down lunch. Choose what appeals when you arrive rather than building the entire outing around a queue at one named stall.

A shorter day: choose the single outing most convenient for your arrival and energy level, then return with time to spare. Singapore's transport connections make several stops possible, but every additional district adds navigation and another chance to lose time.

Getting back to your ship

For Marina Bay Cruise Centre, return to the terminal at Marina Coastal Drive. If arriving by MRT, allow for the walk from Marina South Pier station after the train journey ends.

For HarbourFront, follow the current terminal signs through the Tower 1 connection to the new red building. Do not stop at the former HarbourFront Passenger Terminal. Save the operator's access page in advance so its route remains available if a map app still favours an old entrance.

On a transit call, leave time for security and the gangway after you reach the building. For a cruise starting here, use your cruise line's check-in deadline rather than the ship's sailing time.

Practical Information

Keep your terminal name, address and boarding documents together. Ask the cruise line which documents to carry on a port visit and which arrival formalities apply to your itinerary; this guide does not substitute ferry instructions for ocean-cruise requirements.

Plan drinking-water and indoor breaks into an outdoor itinerary. If mobility assistance is needed, arrange the terminal transfer and attraction access together rather than assessing only the train journey.
