Batumi Sea Port identifies berths 10 and 11 as its passenger berths, with the Marine Passenger Terminal in the city centre beside the seafront boulevard. This guide covers an alongside arrival there. Confirm your assigned berth and the passenger exit with the ship before setting off.

The railway-ferry terminal at berth 6 belongs to a different part of the port operation. Directions labelled simply “ferry terminal” can therefore be misleading. Save the actual cruise passenger meeting point for your return or for a driver collecting you.

Follow the permitted passenger route, complete any arrival formalities and agree a pickup point before leaving the port area.

About this port

Batumi's central passenger terminal makes a waterfront and old-town visit a practical short-call option. The Botanical Garden is a separate journey outside the centre. Choose between those plans before arranging transport, rather than treating the garden as a quick extra at the end of a city walk.

Getting Around

For a local visit, stay with the boulevard and Europe Square. The national tourism board places Europe Square on Memed Abashidze Avenue in the Old Town. This gives you a specific inland destination before returning towards the seafront.

The Botanical Garden is approximately 9 km from central Batumi, according to the national tourism board. That is a centre-to-garden distance, not a timed transfer from your ship. If choosing it, arrange the outward journey, exact collection point and return time in advance. Allow time for walking inside the garden as well as both road journeys.

Things to Do

  • Europe Square: an old-town focus around the Medea monument and surrounding architecture. Combine it with a limited seafront walk for a plan you can shorten as needed.
  • Batumi Botanical Garden: an alternative main outing, with plant collections from different geographical regions spread across extensive grounds. Agree where you will meet your driver and choose a route that gets you back there in time; do not assume you will cover the whole garden during a short call.
  • Batumi Boulevard: a seaside promenade with park areas. Pick a section and a turning-back point rather than attempting its full length. It can also provide a shorter local plan if the time available rules out the garden transfer.

Getting back to your ship

Return: keep the ship's all-aboard instructions and named passenger meeting point. A driver's estimate to the waterfront does not include boarding formalities.

Practical Information

  • Currency: Georgian lari (GEL).
  • Emergencies: call 112 for police, fire/rescue or ambulance.
  • Return: keep the ship's all-aboard instructions and named passenger meeting point. A driver's estimate to the waterfront does not include boarding formalities.
