About this port

Check whether your itinerary names Gdynia or Gdańsk before arranging transport: these are separate ports. From Gdynia, visiting Gdańsk involves a transfer; staying near the Emigration Museum offers a more contained day. For a first visit to Gdańsk, choose either its Main Town streets or the European Solidarity Centre as your main focus, then add anything else only if the return journey allows it.

Getting Around

From Francuskie Quay, use the Dworzec Morski – Muzeum Emigracji bus stop for route 133 to Gdynia Główna station; allow separately for leaving the port, waiting and finding the railway platform. A prearranged taxi to the station reduces those changes, while a direct road transfer to Gdańsk avoids the railway altogether but remains subject to traffic.

PKP SKM trains connect Gdynia Główna and Gdańsk Główny, with services continuing to Gdańsk Śródmieście. Consult the operator's dated timetable for both directions before setting out; do not build the return around the final possible train. Your total journey also includes getting back from Gdynia station to the ship. SKM timetables: 30 August–24 October 2026; 25 October–12 December 2026.

Buy the correct ticket for the train you intend to use. SKM's paper tickets specifically intended for validators must be stamped before boarding; mobile and online tickets must be purchased before boarding. Follow the instructions for your ticket format rather than assuming every paper or electronic ticket works alike. SKM passenger regulations, section 8.
