Onward to Seven Mile Beach — Edward Street depot to Seven Mile Beach and West Bay.
- Public transport: buses 1 and 2 link George Town with Seven Mile Beach and West Bay from the Edward Street depot beside the Public Library. These are beach routes, not a transfer to the museum. The tourism department publishes a CI$2.50 network starting fare, not a fixed fare to every beach stop. Tourism transport information.

Princess describes Grand Cayman as a tender port: ships anchor and passengers come ashore by small boat. The port authority identifies Royal Watler, North and South terminals in George Town. Note your own landing's name before leaving it, particularly when meeting an independent excursion.
Rough weather can prevent a call or move tendering to Spotts, as documented in a port authority weather notice. If Spotts is announced, arrange onward road transport rather than following the central walking advice. The port authority lists road transport from Spotts to George Town; tell the dispatcher which destination you need. Use the ship's current instructions for the landing and meeting point; these can matter more than the address on an advance excursion confirmation.
Discuss tender boarding with the ship if you use a wheelchair or have difficulty with steps. A walkable town does not establish that the boat transfer is suitable for you.
About this port
George Town is Grand Cayman's cruise gateway. A central landing makes a museum visit, waterfront lunch and shopping straightforward; Seven Mile Beach and a Stingray City boat trip require more planning. Choose one main outing and leave room for the tender journey at either end. The island name on your itinerary does not mean that every ship uses the same shore terminal.
Getting Around
For Seven Mile Beach, the tourism department lists public bus 1, with a yellow route sticker, and 2, with a lime-green sticker, between George Town and West Bay. The depot is on Edward Street beside the Public Library. Tell the driver your beach destination and establish the fare before travelling; the published network minimum in the summary is not a quote for a particular stop.
Taxis are available at the George Town cruise dock. For a beach trip, specify the access point and agree a return collection place. For an independent boat excursion, establish whether collection is at your tender terminal or at a separate marina, and whether the road transfer is included.
Things to Do
Stay in George Town. The National Museum combines natural history with Caymanian seafaring and cultural history. Allow the museum's suggested 45–60 minutes. Adult visitor admission is US$15, checked 2026-10-02 on its visitor page. The historic building has accessible ground-floor facilities and toilets, but limited access overall. Pair it with a waterfront meal for a day with fewer transport commitments.
Choose Seven Mile Beach. Take the West Bay bus or a taxi and name the part of the beach you want to reach. A beach outing can stand alone; adding a boat tour afterwards increases the number of transfers you must fit around tendering.
Visit Stingray City and the Sandbar. These are water-based outings in North Sound, not attractions beside the tender pier. The tourism department recommends a professional operator. Establish the complete excursion duration, including collection and return. Follow the guide's wildlife instructions and never lift a stingray out of the water.
Getting back to your ship
Return to your assigned terminal, not simply to “the port”. If your return tenders are operating from Spotts, include the road journey there even if you spent the day in George Town. Allow for the return vehicle, tender queue and boat crossing when planning the day. Record the ship's last tender time as well as all-aboard; reaching the waterfront at sailing time is too late. Keep the landing details and ship's contact information with you.
Practical Information
Cayman Islands dollars and US dollars are both used; establish which currency a quoted price means. Carry small cash for transport, water and sun protection. Cayman observes Eastern Standard Time without daylight saving. Compare local time with the ship's clock before going ashore, then use the ship's stated return time.
