Ships berth at the pier, allowing passengers to walk ashore. At the plaza, follow signs for the area or attraction you have chosen. Royal Caribbean confirms that accessible trams circulate, including on the pier route; request this service at Guest Services on the pier or island. Arrange assistance with the ship for the gangway itself; tram availability does not settle every passenger's boarding needs.
About this port
Coco Cay, marketed as Perfect Day CocoCay, is a private cruise destination in the Bahamas built around beaches, pools and optional attractions. A shore day can be as simple as swimming and lunch, or centred on a reserved waterpark or beach-club pass. Choose the kind of day you want before buying extras: several beaches, Oasis Lagoon and food venues are already included for Royal Caribbean guests.
The arrival hub is Arrivals Plaza, reached directly from the cruise pier. This is an island recreation stop; the useful journey is from the ship to the beach or pool you select, rather than to a town centre.
Getting Around
The Island Tram is separate from the Pier Tram and connects the main recreation areas. Stops include South Beach, Oasis Lagoon and Breezy Bay at Chill Island. It can save walking, but include the wait and the final approach to your chosen spot when planning the return.
For walking, Royal Caribbean gives estimates from Arrivals Plaza, not from the ship: about 5 minutes to Harbor Beach, 8 to Oasis Lagoon and 5–10 to Chill Island. These estimates were checked on 2026-09-25. Add the pier walk when calculating the complete journey. Use the operator's map and signs to keep the route straightforward.
Things to Do
Beach and swim: Chill Island offers a beach-focused day, while Oasis Lagoon is the freshwater-pool option. Both feature among the included experiences. A beach chair, swimming and lunch can fill the call without buying an attraction package. Choose a base near the facilities that your party will use most.
Family water play: Splashaway Bay and Captain Jill's Galleon provide included play areas. Thrill Waterpark is a separate paid attraction with larger slides and pools. Read the participant restrictions for the activities you intend to use before paying, particularly when children of different ages are travelling together.
A reserved beach club: Coco Beach Club adds a restaurant and infinity-pool setting; Hideaway Beach is a separately ticketed adults-only option. These are choices for passengers who want that particular atmosphere and facilities. Prices vary by sailing, so compare the actual pass with what you would otherwise use on the included part of the island. Royal Caribbean's FAQs explain the differences.
Getting back to your ship
Head back towards Arrivals Plaza, then take the pier walkway or Pier Tram to the ship. The main vulnerability is losing track of how far your beach or attraction is from the gangway, especially if relying on a tram. Leave time for collecting belongings, travel and boarding checks. Follow your ship's all-aboard time even if another ship's passengers remain ashore.
Practical Information
Bring your SeaPass card: it is needed to leave and reboard the ship and to pay for island purchases. US-dollar cash is useful at the local craft market. Take a towel from the ship, sun protection and necessary medication. The operator lists complimentary lockers, freshwater showers, beach chairs and umbrellas; use the island signs to locate them. Onboard Royal Caribbean beverage and internet packages extend to the island under their package terms.
Included food venues include Chill Grill, Skipper's Grill and Snack Shack. Plan lunch around the day's posted service times rather than assuming every outlet serves until departure. These inclusions are described in the operator's cost guide.
