Orientation, not a walking route

Ayia Napa Marina lies west of the resort's fishing harbour; a meeting described simply as “Ayia Napa harbour” is too imprecise. Use the cruise line's named tender landing, passenger exit and return meeting place, and follow its last-tender time.

Plan for a tender call at the marina anchorage. Contemporary local reporting records SeaDream II anchored offshore on 29 May 2022, with passengers welcomed by the marina and municipality. Cyprus Mail also reported the transport ministry's confirmation of the new anchorage. This supports offshore cruise access, without establishing alongside berthing inside the marina.

Allow for tender boarding and the return boat journey. The marina arrival is separate from the small sightseeing boats based at the central fishing harbour.

About this port

Ayia Napa offers a choice between a day in the resort and a coastal outing towards Cape Gkreko. The fishing harbour, monastery square and Thalassa Municipal Museum give a town visit some variety without committing to a longer excursion. The first planning decision is the landing point: Ayia Napa Marina and the town's fishing harbour are separate places on the official tourism map.

Getting Around

For the return to the marina, take OSEA bus 102 towards the Waterpark from Agia Napa Square 1 to Agia Napa Marina 1. Daytime tickets apply from 04:00 to 21:00; OSEA sells them for cash on board and does not accept bank cards there.

For a short visit, choose a group of sights near the landing or transfer drop-off. The official tourism map distinguishes the central resort from Cape Gkreko and the marina; it is useful for agreeing a taxi meeting point. If choosing a coastal excursion, arrange its return to that same point before setting off.

Things to Do

• Town and museum: combine the fishing harbour area with Thalassa, the municipal museum about the sea. Check museum admission arrangements before making it the main purpose of your visit.
• Monastery square: the monastery stands in the centre of the resort and dates to around 1500 according to Cyprus Tourism. Treat an interior visit as conditional on access being available.
• Cape Gkreko: the national forest park has coastal scenery and walking trails. Make this a separate outing with a defined pickup point, rather than adding it to an already full town programme.
