Arrival & Getting Ashore

Getting to the centre: Port Vauban is the harbour beside the old town; Place Guynemer is the central landmark, and the bus figures start at Porte Marine outside the harbour rather than at a ship's tender pontoon.

  • Shuttle: free local Envibus line 14 with the personal Pass Navette; board at Porte Marine outside the harbour.
  • Public transport: Envibus 14 from Porte Marine towards Place Guynemer, €0 one way with Pass Navette, a timetabled 29 minutes via Port de la Salis; this is a coastal loop, so walking is the more direct choice for the old town.

Seabourn includes Antibes in its published tender-port list. Plan for a boat transfer; get your landing point, final return time and any booked mobility assistance from the crew.

Port Vauban adjoins the old-town waterfront. Keep the name of your tender pontoon with you for the return.

Before leaving the waterfront, identify the return point and any access-control arrangements. A town that looks close from the anchorage can still involve steps into the boat, a gangway and a walk around marina infrastructure.

About this port

Antibes offers a compact art-and-old-town visit beside Port Vauban. A morning around the market and Musée Picasso can be followed by a waterfront walk, with enough flexibility to return to the ship without crossing the wider Riviera.

Choose between an indoor visit and a longer coastal outing before setting off. Juan-les-Pins and neighbouring towns are accessible by public transport, but a few hours in Antibes itself can easily absorb the useful part of a tender call.

Getting Around

Explore the old town on foot, keeping the market, museum and harbour as the anchors of your route. The municipal museum specifically notes that public transport does not drop visitors at its entrance. Check its detailed accessibility advice if that last approach matters to you.

Envibus serves Antibes, Juan-les-Pins and neighbouring communities. Line 14 serves Porte Marine and makes a coastal loop via Port de la Salis to Place Guynemer. Obtain the free personal Pass Navette through the Envibus Ticket app or an Envibus agency before boarding. The timetable runs Monday–Saturday, excluding public holidays, checked 2026-09-08. Regional TER trains also serve Antibes and Juan-les-Pins. Check both directions before travelling, and allow for the walk between the station and your landing point.

On a short call, avoid combining a museum visit with an ambitious multi-town train journey. If you do leave Antibes, choose one destination and a return service that leaves a substantial margin before the last tender.

Things to Do

Musée Picasso: Make the museum your principal visit if art is the priority. It occupies the historic Château Grimaldi, and the collections extend beyond Picasso to other modern artists. Use the municipal visitor page for current access, exhibitions and admission.

Marché Provençal: The covered food market is on Cours Masséna. It is a useful place to begin if operating when you arrive, then continue into the surrounding streets for cafés and small shops. The tourist office describes seasonal variations in market days, so avoid planning around a universal daily opening promise.

Old town and waterfront: A circuit of lanes, ramparts and the port provides an outing without an admission deadline. The tourism office also identifies the sculpture Le Nomade by the harbour as a stop on its family walking suggestions. Keep the loop short enough to leave a relaxed return.

La Gravette: This beach is an option for passengers who would rather spend time by the water than visit another museum. Check local swimming conditions and keep the tender deadline in mind before settling in.

Getting back to your ship

On a short call, avoid combining a museum visit with an ambitious multi-town train journey. If you do leave Antibes, choose one destination and a return service that leaves a substantial margin before the last tender.

Practical Information

The currency is the euro and French is the official language. Call 112 for emergencies. Carry the ship documents requested for your return and save the local port-agent contact.

Wear comfortable shoes for the old town and pack water for sunny waterfront stretches. Follow the museum's current bag and access instructions. Keep the market's seasonal operating pattern and your tender deadline in the day's plan.
