Narsaq has two distinct harbour bays. The harbour pilot places Atlantkaj and a small pontoon in Fabriksbugten, while Kolonibugten has another pontoon. It lists Atlantkaj as 60 metres long but records alongside capacity for vessels up to 205 metres. The quay’s length is not a maximum cruise-ship length.

Seabourn lists Narsaq, spelt “Narssaq” in its document, as a tender port. Use the ship's daily programme to identify which harbour pontoon and return point apply. Ice can obstruct the approaches and accumulate near the quay.

About this port

Narsaq is a South Greenland town between the Tunulliarfik and Sermilik fjords. For a short visit, its museum provides a focus through local history and geology. Choose that town-based outing or a pre-arranged boat excursion rather than trying to combine the town, a mountain hike and time on the water.

Getting Around

Most visitors can explore the town on foot. Taxis are an option for travelling along the outlying gravel roads, according to Visit Greenland. The museum and tourist information are useful orientation stops, but first identify which harbour bay you have landed in. Arrange any taxi return before heading out of town.

Things to Do

The museum covers Norse settlement and later town history, with a mineral exhibition that helps explain the surrounding landscape. It is a useful starting point before a short walk through Narsaq; check opening locally.

For more time outdoors, ask about the walk towards Narsaq Point and whether the conditions and return distance suit your remaining time. The hills directly behind town are a separate hiking commitment. A local iceberg boat trip is another option, provided the departure and return have been agreed around your ship’s call. Do not treat onward boat services as a substitute for that confirmed return.
