Barcelona cruise port guide

Most cruise days in Barcelona come down to one choice: wander the old town on foot, or build the day around a booked Gaudí visit. Either works well.

Ships dock alongside, but Barcelona has more than one cruise terminal, so check which one is on your cruise documents. The Adossat terminals are reached differently from Barcelona South, beside the World Trade Center on Moll Barcelona. Barcelona South is due to close in late 2026; that's the port's plan, last checked in September 2026.

The Cruise Bus runs between Adossat and the city side of the port. In town it stops at Moll Barcelona, next to the World Trade Center rather than at the Columbus Monument itself. From there, head towards Drassanes for metro line L3. If you've booked your cruise line's own transfer, it may use a different stop and ticket.

The Creuers terminals have lifts and accessible toilets. If you'll need a wheelchair in the terminal, book it through your cruise line.

About this port

Most cruise days in Barcelona come down to one choice: wander the old town on foot, or build the day around a booked Gaudí visit. Either works well. The thing to keep in mind is the port itself. Moll Adossat is a separate terminal complex, a bus ride from the city, so reaching the waterfront at the bottom of La Rambla doesn't mean you're back at your ship.

Getting Around

The old town is best done on foot once you're off the shuttle. For anything further out, take the metro or a taxi and plan the trip around your entry time. A taxi straight there means fewer changes if you're carrying bags or travelling as a group, but allow for traffic on the way back.

Things to Do

  • A walking day in the old town: follow La Rambla into the Gothic Quarter, with its narrow streets and squares, and explore around the cathedral and Plaça Sant Jaume. Give yourself separate time for getting back to Moll Barcelona; it isn't part of the walk.
  • Sagrada Família: book an official ticket, make the basilica your main visit, and leave room for the journey back. Worth knowing: the UNESCO listing covers Gaudí's Nativity façade and crypt, not the whole basilica.
  • Another Gaudí site: Park Güell, Casa Batlló and Casa Milà are part of the same UNESCO listing. Pick one rather than trying to fit them all in between transfers, and check that site's own admission arrangements.

Getting back to your ship

Getting back: check the time of the last Cruise Bus before you set off, and have your terminal's name ready for the driver or bus staff. Leave a margin for traffic and queues as well as the ride itself.

Practical Information

  • Currency: euro (€). Emergency: 112, free.
  • Tickets: buy Sagrada Família tickets through the basilica's official site, and pick an entry time that allows for security and the trip from the ship.
  • Getting back: check the time of the last Cruise Bus before you set off, and have your terminal's name ready for the driver or bus staff. Leave a margin for traffic and queues as well as the ride itself.
