Cruise ships normally dock alongside at one of the three terminals. Larger ships use the eastern area; smaller ships berth at the inner basin beside the Palm Grove waterfront.
- Terminals A and B: these are on the outer harbour approach. EMT bus 14 starts at Paseo de la Farola, beyond the terminal area, and serves Parque–Pl. Marina and Alameda Principal towards the centre.
- El Palmeral: this terminal is beside the city's Palm Grove waterfront and closer to the historic centre. Use its signed pedestrian exit rather than following directions for the outer terminals. The five-minute walk and map coordinates on this page refer to El Palmeral.
The terminal operator lists taxi stands and tourist information desks. Its terminal facilities include lifts and adapted toilets.
About this port
Your Málaga plan begins with the terminal: A and B are in the eastern cruise area, while El Palmeral is at the inner waterfront. A museum visit or the Alcazaba can anchor a short city day, but the transfer allowance differs between those arrival points.
Getting Around
Use Muelle Uno and the Palmeral waterfront as the link towards the centre once you have left the terminal area. Museo Picasso places itself near the cathedral, Roman Theatre and Alcazaba, allowing a focused walking visit there.
The Alcazaba's municipal visitor description includes steps and sloping passages. Confirm a suitable route before buying a ticket if you need step-free access; terminal facilities do not establish access inside the fortress.
Things to Do
- Art-focused day: book Museo Picasso through its official site, visit the galleries, then choose a short walk around the cathedral and theatre area before returning.
- Fortress-focused day: make the Alcazaba the principal visit and leave the museum for another occasion if the return margin is narrowing.
- Shorter outing: stay on the Muelle Uno and Palmeral waterfront, keeping the journey back to the assigned terminal in view when deciding how far to go.
Getting back to your ship
Return: give the driver the terminal name; “the cruise port” may not identify the right part of the harbour.
