Ships dock alongside at one of several quays. The Port Authority lists Muelle Norte, the north side of II Espigón, Muelle Moliner and the eighth alignment of Muelles de la Osa. It also lists tourist information beside the ship, shuttle buses and taxis.

Use the passenger transfer offered for your berth and follow the controlled port exit instructions. A shuttle or taxi preserves your walking time for the city.

Confirm the city drop-off and collection point, photograph the stop and note the final return. Do not arrange to meet a driver at the marina until you know that is where your transfer actually ends.

About this port

Plan on a vehicle transfer from El Musel, Gijón's commercial port, before starting a city walk. Central Gijón then offers two manageable choices: stay around the marina and San Lorenzo seafront, or add the climb through Cimavilla to the headland.

Getting Around

Once in town, pick a circuit that returns to the actual shuttle stop. San Lorenzo's promenade and the marina are useful for a shorter walk; Cimavilla occupies higher ground and adds a climb. Ask about accessible transfer boarding before disembarking if needed.

Things to Do

  • A shorter city visit: walk around the marina and Plaza Mayor, then choose how far to continue along San Lorenzo before turning back.
  • Headland visit: take the lanes through Cimavilla towards Cerro de Santa Catalina and Eduardo Chillida's Elogio del Horizonte. Choose this when you are comfortable with the ascent and the weather suits an exposed viewpoint.
  • Roman history: the Campo Valdés baths are a central museum option. Check visitor access before relying on an indoor stop; an exterior city walk remains a flexible alternative.

Getting back to your ship

Return margin: allow for getting back through the commercial port, not just reaching central Gijón's waterfront.
