The dedicated cruise terminal is at Muelle de Trasatlánticos. The Port Authority's destination guide also identifies Calvo Sotelo Sur and Norte for simultaneous calls and occasional use of San Diego. It describes shuttle transfers through the cruise terminal when other berths are used.
Follow the ship's instructions for your actual quay. From the central terminal, use the pedestrian exit into the city. At another berth, use the shuttle through the cruise terminal and note its return collection point.
About this port
A Coruña usually offers a central arrival, but the berth still matters. Decide between a city-centre walk and a visit to the Tower of Hercules farther around the peninsula. Finish the most distant part of the day first if you want an easy final return.
Getting Around
The waterfront and María Pita area make a practical local walk. For the Tower of Hercules, compare the longer walk with a taxi and agree how to return. A taxi saves walking time, but still allow time between the drop-off and the monument itself.
Visiting the surrounding sculpture park and entering the lighthouse are separate choices. Check the municipal visitor page before travelling for an interior visit: it warns that daily admission capacity can be exhausted before closing.
Things to Do
- Stay central: explore María Pita square, the old town and the waterfront galleries, returning through the pedestrian port access when ready. This is the more flexible short-call choice.
- Lighthouse focus: visit the Tower of Hercules and choose a suitable part of the surrounding sculpture park. The UNESCO-listed lighthouse retains its Roman core within an exterior remodelled in the eighteenth century.
- Combine selectively: after the tower, return to the central waterfront and add a short city walk. Avoid making a long headland circuit the final task before all-aboard.
Getting back to your ship
Return: keep the quay and any shuttle collection point available. Allow extra margin if your ship uses an overflow berth.
Practical Information
- Currency: euro (€). Emergency: 112, free.
- Mobility: establish the path and interior access suitable for you before setting out for the tower; a taxi does not remove every part of the approach.
- Return: keep the quay and any shuttle collection point available. Allow extra margin if your ship uses an overflow berth.
