Ports of Stockholm provides a 260-metre SeaWalk, a floating walkway that connects a cruise ship directly to shore. Its current cruise page presents the SeaWalk as Nynäshamn's passenger arrangement, and an operator account says it replaced the tender boats formerly used here.
The municipality's green-marked route runs about 1.3 km from the pier to the town centre. If you're heading for the station, that's a separate destination near the guest harbour.
About this port
Nynäshamn gives you a choice: head to Stockholm, or spend the day exploring the local guest harbour and coastal walks. Stockholm means a long journey each way; staying in Nynäshamn makes for a less demanding day. Before you decide, check how much time you'll actually have ashore, including the trip back to the ship.
Getting Around
Take SL commuter-rail line 43 from Nynäshamn to Stockholm City. The municipal visitor guide gives 55–70 minutes for the train journey, and an adult SL single ticket costs kr 43 one way (prices checked 2026-09-08). That time doesn't include the walk to Nynäshamn station, waiting or onward travel within Stockholm.
The municipality also documents Strömma Hop On Hop Off transfers between the pier and Gustav Adolfs Torg in Stockholm for participating calls; the transfer is included in the operator's regular Hop On Hop Off ticket.
Things to Do
Keep a short call local: start at the guest harbour, where the municipality lists cafés, restaurants and shops. If time and weather suit, add a walk along Strandvägen. Turn back when you need to; you don't have to walk the full coastal route.
Use a longer call for Stockholm: allow for both train journeys first, then choose one part of the capital to explore. Trying to fit in several attractions a long way apart leaves you little room if getting off the ship or public transport takes longer than expected. If the transfers leave you little time, staying in Nynäshamn is the easier choice.
Getting back to your ship
Getting back: if you're visiting Stockholm independently, choose your outward and return trains before you leave the port. Pick an earlier return than the last one that seems to fit. Save the ship's return instructions and the location of your landing point; the guest harbour, railway station and ship are separate places.
Practical Information
Currency: Swedish krona (SEK). Carry a payment card. Call 112 in an emergency.
Buy or activate the right SL ticket before you board.
