Arrival & Getting Ashore
Getting to the centre: Disney Lookout Cay cruise pier to Mabrika Cove tram station.
- Walk: the pier provides a practical pedestrian route to the station. A Disney-published account from June 2024 recorded about 12 minutes from ship to tram station; allow longer for your own pace. This reaches the station, not the main beach.

Disney ships dock alongside. The operator's arrival FAQ describes a separate accessible cart service between the ship and Mabrika Cove, reserved for guests with disabilities who need help traversing the pier. It operates first come, first served; discuss your requirements with Guest Services onboard.
From Mabrika Cove, the tram continues to the Goombay Cultural Center. Keep bags manageable for both stages, and have sun protection and drinking water ready before leaving the ship.
About this port
Lighthouse Point is Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney Cruise Line's beach destination on Eleuthera. It combines family swimming and water play with Bahamian music, art and cultural activities. The main decision is whether to spend the day around the beach pavilions or reserve an excursion farther into Eleuthera.
Plan the arrival as a pier walk followed by a tram journey. Reaching land is only the first stage of reaching the main visitor area, a distinction that matters when travelling with children or anyone who tires easily.
Getting Around
The main tram is available to all guests and links Mabrika Cove with the Goombay Cultural Center. Disney's June 2024 visit account describes roughly ten minutes aboard; waiting and boarding take additional time. This is transport within the Disney destination, not a town shuttle or public bus through Eleuthera.
Personal and electric wheelchairs can board the trams; sand wheelchairs cannot. Accessible toilets are available, but these facilities do not make every beach or nature path suitable for every mobility device. Arrange the pier assistance separately from plans for reaching the sand.
For exploring beyond Lookout Cay, Disney offers Port Adventures developed with local operators. Choose the specific itinerary and meeting point before committing your day: a beach tram ride and an island excursion have different departure arrangements.
Things to Do
Choose your beach: the destination guide describes the Family Beach and adults-only Serenity Bay. Beach towels, loungers and umbrellas are included. Families can combine swimming with Rush Out Gush Out's water play; adults seeking a quieter base can use Serenity Bay and its dining area. Swimming activities may be restricted by weather, currents or marine life, so take your lead from the shore team.
Make time for Bahamian culture: the Goombay Cultural Center hosts activities celebrating local traditions, while RUSH! brings a Junkanoo celebration into the day's programme. Read the onboard activity schedule before settling far from the pavilion; a short cultural stop works well around lunch and beach time.
Walk to the lighthouse: the self-guided nature trail introduces local plants and wildlife and leads towards the historic light station. Wear walking shoes. Disney's published account describes a sandy path past rock formations, making it a more active choice than staying beside the beach facilities.
Getting back to your ship
Return via the Goombay Cultural Center tram to Mabrika Cove, then complete the pier journey to the ship. Allow for the tram queue, unloading and your walking pace; the outward tram time alone is not a return allowance. If using the accessible pier cart, build in time for that separate service. Follow the ship's all-aboard deadline, including on days when beach activities finish earlier.
Practical Information
The included barbecue lunch leaves room to keep spending modest. Specialty coffees, smoothies, alcoholic drinks, shopping and cabanas are separate purchases; decide which extras matter before booking them.
Take the identification needed for going ashore and reboarding. Disney's boarding instructions require adults to carry valid photo identification and their Key to the World card. Keep these dry and accessible rather than buried with wet swimwear.
