About this port
Seattle gives you market stalls to browse and outdoor sculpture beside the water. You can build a visit around Pike Place Market, or head to Olympic Sculpture Park for art and views across the bay. Your terminal shapes the day: Pier 66 is on the downtown waterfront, while from Pier 91 at Smith Cove, plan a vehicle trip into town. Seattle is also a starting and finishing point for Alaska cruises, so keep those travel arrangements separate from a day ashore.
Getting Around
From Pier 66, keep Alaskan Way as your waterfront route. The market is to the south, reached via the Lenora Street bridge. Olympic Sculpture Park lies to the north, with paths connecting its outdoor sculptures and the waterfront.
If you're arriving from the airport to start a cruise, Link light rail serves Westlake Station downtown. From Westlake to Pier 66, allow approximately 20 minutes on foot. For Pier 91, continue by taxi or rideshare. Include that onward journey when choosing an airport transfer.
Things to Do
- Pike Place Market: browse the main arcade, food stalls, crafts and small shops, then explore the lower levels if you have time. Entry is free, checked on 5 November 2026. For a waterfront finish, use the MarketFront stairs or lifts to Western Avenue, turn right towards the parking-garage entrance by Madame Lazonga's Tattoo, then follow the pergola to the Overlook Walk. This brings you down towards the waterfront for the walk back to Pier 66.
- Olympic Sculpture Park: choose this for an outdoor art walk, with large contemporary sculptures and views of Puget Sound. The park's address is 2901 Western Avenue, and its paths descend towards the waterfront. Outdoor admission is free, checked on 5 November 2026. From Pier 66, walk north along Alaskan Way. From Pier 91, arrange a vehicle to the park and agree where you'll meet for the return.
Getting back to your ship
Getting back: for Pier 66, return from the market to Alaskan Way and walk north, or walk south along Alaskan Way from Olympic Sculpture Park. Finish at Bell Street Cruise Terminal, 2225 Alaskan Way, then follow your ship's re-entry instructions to the gangway.
For Pier 91, book the return to Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91. From the designated drop-off area, continue to the terminal entrance and follow your ship's boarding instructions. Count back from all-aboard to allow for getting a vehicle, traffic and boarding. If you're beginning your cruise here, use your cruise line's check-in window instead.
Practical Information
Pike Place Market has stairs and several levels, with lift access from the waterfront and Western Avenue. Use its visitor information to choose a route that suits you. If you're carrying suitcases before or after a cruise, arrange storage first: the market has no lockers or luggage storage.
