Cruise ships dock in the Port of Rønne. The port identifies piers 31–32 as the Cruise Quay and pier 37 as a multipurpose quay used mainly for cruise ships in summer. The different quays mean that a single distance from “the port” to town is misleading.

Follow the ship's passenger-exit instructions for your allocated quay. For a taxi pickup, give the quay number and authorised meeting point rather than the address of the ferry terminal or tourist office.

About this port

Rønne provides a town-based introduction to Bornholm, with ceramics, local streets and museums accessible after the port transfer. Choose this local plan if you want flexibility around the ship's return time. A visit elsewhere on the island is a separate transport decision, not something to add automatically after exploring the town.

Getting Around

Destination Bornholm describes central Rønne as suitable for exploring on foot. Its harbour tourist information point is a useful place to obtain a city map after leaving the cruise area. Keep the port transfer separate from the town walk, particularly when deciding how much time is available for a museum.

For a short call, choose either ceramics or local history, with time in the streets around the centre. A vehicle excursion beyond Rønne makes sense only if its full return journey fits the call.

Things to Do

  • Hjorths Fabrik: a working ceramics museum at Krystalgade 5, with historic factory buildings and exhibitions. Check the visitor programme if watching production is a priority; a museum opening day does not guarantee every workshop activity.
  • Town streets and squares: use the tourism board's map to make a short loop, adjusting its length around your museum visit and return pickup. Store Torv and Lille Torv offer places to pause for food.
  • Bornholms Museum: the island-history museum is an alternative to the ceramics factory. Choose it as your main indoor visit and check its opening arrangements before committing to a second museum.

Getting back to your ship

Keep the quay number, meeting point and ship's all-aboard time together. If your transfer returns to a port entrance rather than the gangway, allow for the remaining walk and security checks.

Practical Information

Currency is the Danish krone (DKK). Dial 112 for emergencies.
