Cruise traffic uses Isola Bianca, which the port authority distinguishes from the Cocciani freight facilities. Ships dock alongside.
The authority's free internal shuttle between the berths and the maritime station is for ferry passengers only (checked 2026-09-08). Ask on board for the passenger exit and return meeting point assigned to your cruise call.
Book any transfer assistance you need in advance. Follow the authorised passenger route through the port. A short distance to town doesn't give you permission to walk through ferry traffic or operational areas.
About this port
Olbia gives you a choice between a town visit and a beach outing. Stay in the centre for San Simplicio, the archaeological museum and time around the waterfront, or arrange transport towards the Pittulongu coast. Either can fill a short call without a long journey through the Costa Smeralda.
Don't judge the day only by a map of the town. Your ship is in the Isola Bianca port area, and the arrangements for leaving and re-entering the working harbour are part of the excursion. Sort those out first, then decide how much time to spend farther afield.
Getting Around
ASPO is the local public bus operator. Its published network includes Line 9 between the port and centre, and Line 4 to Bados via Pittulongu. Check your public boarding stop and the return service in the operator's journey planner. These buses are separate from any ship-to-exit transfer.
As checked on 7 September 2026, ASPO's separate Spiagge Express page marks that service as temporarily suspended. The same page still shows old operating details; don't treat them as an available beach shuttle. Instead, use a confirmed regular bus option or agree a taxi return.
Once in central Olbia, you can cover a compact sightseeing route on foot. A trip to Porto Cervo or another resort is a separate road excursion; allow for both directions rather than trying to add it after a beach visit.
Things to Do
San Simplicio. The Romanesque basilica is a rewarding focus for a town walk. Regional tourism places its construction in stages during the eleventh and twelfth centuries. It gives you a different view of Olbia from the modern passenger harbour. Check church access and keep sightseeing clear of services. Regional heritage profile
Archaeological museum. The municipal museum interprets the history of Olbia and its surroundings. Its municipal visitor page, updated in August 2026, gives public opening information and accessibility details. Check it before you go, especially if you want a guided visit, which needs its own arrangements.
Central streets and waterfront. Leave part of the call free after your main sight. A walk, a café stop and lunch can be enough without another transfer. Choose a restaurant by what is open and the time you have, rather than assuming everything closes together at midday.
Pittulongu coast. Make this the main outing if you want beach time. Confirm the return bus or taxi before you settle down, and include the journey from town back through the port in your timing. Bring a towel and any supplies you need; don't assume they come with beach equipment hire.
