The port identifies two cruise berths: Adriaan Maaskade, directly beside the beach and boulevard, and Vissershavenweg, in the first harbour. Both are dockside arrivals. The quay name matters because Vissershavenweg is farther inside the working harbour.

There is no permanent cruise terminal building. The port arranges temporary security and tourist-information facilities for each call.

About this port

Scheveningen is The Hague's coastal harbour, receiving smaller cruise ships alongside working fishing and commercial vessels. A call offers two distinct plans: stay around the harbour and seafront, or arrange transport into The Hague for a city visit. For a brief stay, the coastal option has fewer transport commitments.

Getting Around

The promenade links the harbour, old fishing village and resort area. The Pier and Kurhaus are in the resort area, so reaching the beach near the harbour does not mean you have reached those attractions. Set a turning point that leaves time to retrace your route to the correct quay.

HTM serves the coast and The Hague. Tram 11 links Scheveningen Haven with Den Haag Hollands Spoor station; this does not make it a direct service to every central attraction. Use the HTM network maps and journey planner with your actual quay and destination. Walking to a stop, waiting and any change of vehicle all belong in the transfer budget. A prearranged taxi can simplify a city visit, but agree the return pickup and allow for traffic.

OVpay accepts supported contactless bank cards and mobile payment cards. Each passenger needs a separate card or ticket, and must check in and out with the same card or device.

Things to Do

Stay near the harbour: the second harbour has a marina, restaurants and cafés. Combine a meal there with a beach or promenade walk if your available time is limited. This avoids turning a short call into a sequence of journeys across The Hague.

Follow the seafront: the boulevard's outdoor SprookjesBeelden aan Zee sculptures provide a stop along the coastal walk. The resort area offers further cafés and views towards the Pier. Decide how far to continue before adding another attraction.

Choose The Hague for a longer call: the Mauritshuis at Plein 29 displays Dutch and Flemish paintings. As checked on 2026-09-08, the museum is closed for maintenance from 24 August to 20 September 2026, and Girl with a Pearl Earring is not on display from 15 August to 4 October 2026. For later visits, use the museum's dated visitor notices.

The adjacent Binnenhof is undergoing renovation; do not plan access to the parliamentary complex or Ridderzaal. The government currently expects completion in summer 2031, a forecast checked on 2026-09-08 and subject to change. Treat a central-city walk and one attraction as a complete outing, with a return buffer before all-aboard.
