Orientation, not a walking route

CMP lists cruise quays at Frihamnskajen and Västra Hamnen and describes the Malmö cruise terminal as within walking distance of the centre.

Confirm the quay, pedestrian exit and return gate with the ship or terminal staff. Do not follow directions to a freight or scheduled-ferry terminal simply because it is labelled “Malmö port”. Base transport on the actual exit rather than the centre of a harbour map.

Passengers who need assistance through the terminal should arrange it with the ship.

About this port

For a short Malmö call, choose between the old-town area around Lilla Torg and a fuller visit to Malmöhus Castle. Combining a local museum with time outdoors is more manageable than treating Copenhagen as an automatic addition.

The cruise port is operated by Copenhagen Malmö Port, but the company's name does not mean your ship is in Copenhagen. Use the actual Malmö berth when planning both the exit and the return.

Getting Around

Use one main destination to organise the day. Lilla Torg and Form/Design Center can share a stop; Malmöhus is a separate museum visit at Malmöhusvägen 6. Check the total route from your ship before deciding to combine them.

Things to Do

• Lilla Torg and Form/Design Center: the centre occupies the former granary at Hedmanska gården, Lilla Torg 9, with design exhibitions and a shop. It makes a focused stop alongside a look around the square. Check the visiting page before relying on interior access.
• Malmöhus Castle: visit the museum complex for the building and its history. The city dates the rebuilding that shaped today's castle to 1537–1542, following an earlier medieval fortress.
• A shorter city visit: choose just one of these areas, leaving time for a meal and an unhurried return. A cruise call is not improved by adding a second city if the transfers consume your sightseeing time.
