Arrival & Getting Ashore
Getting to the centre: If your ship lands at Bol's existing harbour, use the Branislav Dešković Gallery on the central waterfront as your town landmark.
- Walk: realistic for a central Bol visit; the gallery is on the waterfront beside the harbour, and a coastal promenade leads west from town.

SeaDream includes Bol among its cruise destinations, while the county port authority documents public harbours at Bol and Sumartin. Sumartin is included here only for passengers whose cruise line specifically names it.
The cruise and harbour sources do not establish whether ships usually dock or tender at Bol or Sumartin. Obtain the actual harbour and landing arrangement from your ship, and give any independent driver that precise collection point.
Bol also has a harbour expansion project. The county's maritime department reported on 1 August 2026 that a new harbour was being built east of the existing one, with a connecting promenade and a target completion in summer of 2028. Treat that as a construction update, not evidence that the new facilities are available. Follow the authorised passenger route on arrival rather than planning around the proposed promenade.
About this port
An itinerary naming only Brač leaves an important planning detail unresolved: the island has several harbours. This guide covers Bol, on the south coast, and Sumartin, at the eastern end. A walk to Zlatni Rat belongs to a Bol day; it is not a plan to transfer automatically to another Brač landing.
Getting Around
If landing in Bol, make the waterfront your starting point. The tourist board describes a coastal promenade west towards Zlatni Rat and the Dominican monastery east of the centre. Choose one direction first and turn back while you still have a comfortable return margin.
Vidova Gora is reached by road or an uphill trail; the summit is 778 m above sea level. For a short call, prearranged road transport offers a more manageable outing than committing to the climb. Agree the return journey before departure.
Arriva's Bol–Supetar bus takes about one hour between the towns' bus stations, according to its route page checked 2026-09-08. This is an onward island journey; Bol's harbour is already beside the centre. Use the operator's date-based journey planner to plan both legs before choosing Supetar for an independent outing.
For Sumartin, the port authority identifies Selca as about 3 km away. For a short visit, stay around the harbour or arrange a driver for the whole outing if the bus return is unsuitable.
Things to Do
- A Bol coastal walk: choose the monastery side for a historic landmark or the Zlatni Rat direction for the pebble beach. Leave time for both legs of the walk before adding swimming.
- A Sumartin waterfront stop: keep the harbour as your base if this is your landing. Shops are documented by the port authority.
- Vidova Gora by arrangement: consider the summit viewpoint only when transport and return time are settled. This is an alternative to a beach day, rather than an extra to add at the last minute.
Getting back to your ship
Return planning: retain the exact harbour name and the ship's return instructions. Do not book collection simply at “Brač port”.
Practical Information
- Currency: euro (€), introduced in Croatia on 1 January 2023.

- Return planning: retain the exact harbour name and the ship's return instructions. Do not book collection simply at “Brač port”.
- Emergencies: call 112, free of charge and available at all hours in Croatia. Calls can be handled in English.
