  • Shuttle: Free internal shuttle from Cruceros 1 and 2 to the Trasmed terminal, described by Visit Valencia; this is a port transfer, not a city-centre bus.
  • Public transport: EMT bus 4 from Pont de les Drassanes outside the port entrance towards Plaça de l’Ajuntament, €2 one-way; allow about 45 minutes on the bus, plus the approach from your berth.

The Port Authority's 2026 berth guidance, checked on 2026-09-08, names Transversal and Poniente, beside the Trasmed passenger terminal at the north entrance. It describes these berths as serving ships under 300 metres and this passenger area as open to public access. Municipal bus connections are a few minutes' walk away. These instructions should not be extrapolated to a different berth or a longer vessel. Valenciaport cruise facilities

Use the passenger exit indicated by staff and record the terminal name for your return. MSC uses the outer Cruise Pier and directs embarking passengers through Trasmed for check-in and its internal shuttle. Keep the final return time for any ship-provided city shuttle available. Allow separately for reaching the stop and queuing to board.

About this port

Choose your main destination before leaving the ship: Valencia's historic centre and the City of Arts and Sciences need different transfers. The port quotes approximately 6 km to the centre and 3 km to the arts complex. For a short call, our recommendation is to concentrate on one area and retain time for the journey back.

Getting Around

A taxi gives you a specific destination and can simplify a visit with limited walking. A ship shuttle is useful when its drop-off suits your chosen area. Public buses require the walk out of the terminal and a check of the return route; they suit a call with time for that extra planning.

For the historic centre, bus 4 is the verified port connection. Buy a single ticket when boarding or through EMTicket; the bus stop is outside the port entrance, so include the approach from your terminal in the return plan.

Things to Do

Old-town focus: make the Silk Exchange and Central Market your anchors. The Lonja de la Seda is a UNESCO World Heritage property associated with Valencia's silk trade. Central Market is a working food market; check its official visitor listing before building a meal stop around it. Leave the remaining time flexible for the surrounding streets.

City of Arts and Sciences focus: choose an exterior architecture walk or a substantial visit inside one attraction. Visit Valencia recommends allowing a full day for the whole complex. Oceanogràfic therefore deserves a dedicated block of time; a combined ticket does not make all the buildings feasible during a short call. These are planning recommendations, not guaranteed visit durations.

Getting back to your ship

Return planning: keep the ship's all-aboard time and exact terminal available offline. Budget separately for the city-to-port journey and embarkation.

Practical Information

  • Money: Spain uses the euro (€).
  • Emergency: dial 112, free throughout Spain.
  • Mobility: the port lists assistance for passengers with reduced mobility. Arrange this through the ship and confirm both the gangway and onward vehicle; general terminal provision does not establish a step-free route for your call.
  • Return planning: keep the ship's all-aboard time and exact terminal available offline. Budget separately for the city-to-port journey and embarkation.
