Ulusoy Çeşme Port handles cruise ships alongside, as well as ferries and Ro-Ro vessels. Its passenger services include an information desk and taxi/transfer provision. Use the passenger route indicated by staff and ask where you may meet a driver.
The operator's technical sheet places the terminal at 38.324722° N, 26.295556° E and gives a 1 km route taking about 15 minutes on foot. GoTürkiye describes the harbour as an easy walk and estimates 10 minutes.
About this port
A Çeşme port day can be centred on the castle museum or on a road excursion to ancient Erythrai at Ildırı. Keeping one main focus leaves room for a town walk and the return through the working passenger port. A separate ferry trip to Chios adds international travel arrangements to a limited time ashore.
Getting Around
Follow the signed passenger exit towards the centre. If the 1 km walk does not suit you, use the port's taxi provision and agree a return pickup.
For Erythrai, arrange transport to Ildırı and allow for time on foot at the site. The Ministry of Culture places it about 22 kilometres from Çeşme; that is a town-to-site distance, not a measured route from your berth.
Although the port handles Chios ferries, an independent island visit needs separate tickets, entry arrangements and return sailings. For a short call, I would stay on the Turkish side and avoid building the return around another vessel.
Things to Do
- Castle museum, with restrictions: the museum introduces local archaeology, including finds from Bağlararası and Erythrai. On 8 September 2026, its official page reports the west and south faces of Umurbey Tower, the Ottoman–Russian Naval War display hall and the Stone Works Hall temporarily closed for restoration-related safety reasons.
- Erythrai: the remains at Ildırı include a theatre and the Temple of Athena. Choose this as the principal outing if archaeology is your priority; ask your driver or guide about the site's walking requirements.
- Town time: leave uncommitted time between sightseeing and your return pickup. This provides a useful buffer without adding another distant destination.

Practical Information
Use Turkish lira for local spending and ask about payment methods before ordering. Dial 112 in an emergency; the port also lists first-aid assistance.
The museum's partial closure means an older description of its galleries may not match what is open.
