Turku has several alongside cruise berths. The port lists berths 25–27 approximately 3 km from the centre and 33–34, 35–36 and 38–40 approximately 4 km away. Small vessels can also be assigned a berth along the Aura River. A river arrival and a commercial-port arrival have different starting points; use the quay number on your arrival instructions.
The port advertises complimentary shuttles for those numbered berth groups, checked on 2026-09-08. Obtain the day's stop and last return from the ship or reception staff. Follow the designated passenger exit or transfer instructions before walking on public streets.
About this port
For a short Turku call, choose between the castle and maritime museums near the lower Aura River, or a transfer into the centre followed by a riverside walk. Turku Cathedral is closed for renovation: the parish currently gives 9 February 2026 to 2 December 2028 as the closure period, checked on 2026-09-07. Plan around other interiors.
Getting Around
Use the shuttle to preserve sightseeing time if you are in the main port. A walk along the river can be part of the visit once you reach public streets. Street works affect the approach around Turku Castle and the passenger harbour, so follow the temporary pedestrian signs.
For a short stay, choose one substantial museum visit and leave the riverside walk flexible. The castle is at Linnankatu 80 and Forum Marinum at Linnankatu 72; their addresses provide clear destinations for a driver. Agree the return pickup or shuttle stop before setting off.
Things to Do
- Forum Marinum: maritime exhibitions and a museum-vessel collection. Indoor exhibitions and ship visits have different seasonal arrangements, so check the museum's visitor information for the parts you want to see. This makes a useful main visit without travelling out to the archipelago.
- Turku Castle: an alternative indoor focus at Linnankatu 80. Check its visitor information and choose a visit that fits the remaining call, rather than combining every museum in the harbour area.
- Aura River: use a riverside stretch as an outdoor addition or a shorter plan. A walk towards the cathedral can include the surrounding streets, but entry to the cathedral is unavailable during the published renovation closure.
Getting back to your ship
Return: the ship's all-aboard time takes priority. Save the quay number and allow time between reaching the port and boarding.
Practical Information
- Currency: euro (€).
- Emergencies: 112.
- Return: the ship's all-aboard time takes priority. Save the quay number and allow time between reaching the port and boarding.
