Cruise Finland identifies Lasse quay for cruise berthing, subject to a confirmed booking. Plan for an alongside arrival at Vaskiluoto's commercial port.
Wasaline places its ferry terminal approximately 4 km west of the city centre, at Vaskiluodon satamakatu 14. That is a ferry-terminal reference, not a distance from every cruise berth or tender landing.
Obtain the permitted passenger exit and transport meeting point from your ship. Cruise Finland lists shuttles by arrangement. Use the ship's named return point rather than a ferry-terminal map pin.
About this port
For a short Vaasa visit, the Inner Harbour and Kuntsi Museum offer a focused local plan after the transfer into town. Cruise facilities are at the commercial port on Vaskiluoto, separate from the Inner Harbour waterfront where you will spend your visit.
Getting Around
Wasabus 13 links Wasaline's terminal with the city centre, including the Market Hall stop at Vaasanpuistikko 18. It leaves about 10 minutes after the ferry arrives; this is the departure offset, not the bus journey time. The city's winter timetable excludes overnight ferry connections. These arrangements were checked on 2026-09-08. Use this service only if your passenger exit and the ferry arrival fit your outing.
A ship transfer or pre-arranged taxi is an alternative. Agree a return from a named town location. The fenced cargo area has controlled access and requires high-visibility clothing; follow the authorised passenger route.
Things to Do
- Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art: the municipality places this museum at the Inner Harbour and describes changing modern and contemporary art exhibitions. It provides an indoor focus for a short town visit. The museum and municipal opening-hours pages agree on Wednesday–Saturday opening, checked on 2026-09-07. Consult the linked visitor information for exceptions before travelling there.
- Inner Harbour waterfront: combine a limited waterfront walk with the museum, or use it as the shorter outdoor option. Keep this destination distinct from Vaskiluoto's commercial port when arranging transport back to the ship.
An excursion into the wider archipelago needs a separate booking and return plan. Keep the town visit as your shorter option if transfers leave limited time ashore.
Getting back to your ship
Return: keep the quay name and confirmed pickup point with the ship's all-aboard time. Leave room for port access after the drive.
Practical Information
- Currency: euro (€).
- Emergencies: 112.
- Return: keep the quay name and confirmed pickup point with the ship's all-aboard time. Leave room for port access after the drive.
