The municipal tourism description of Lister Hafen identifies large cruise ships anchoring off the harbour. Plan on a boat transfer for an anchorage call, while taking the cruise line's instructions as decisive for the vessel and landing actually used.

Record the landing name and last return boat, and arrange any required boarding assistance with the cruise line before making onward plans. A berth shown for the scheduled Sylt ferry or a visiting yacht is not evidence that a cruise ship will dock there.

The harbourmaster's office is at Am Hafen 28. Use List/Hafen as the place name for the harbour bus stop; the landing and the bus stop are separate stages of the arrival.

About this port

List harbour gives a Sylt call a compact local focus: the Erlebniszentrum Naturgewalten explains the island's coast and environment, with harbour-side places to eat and browse nearby. Travelling south towards Kampen or Westerland is a separate bus outing. For a short call, the harbour and the exhibition avoid spending much of the day retracing that journey.

Getting Around

SVG's 2026 summer timetable, checked on 8 September 2026, lists bus 1 between List/Hafen, Kampen, Wenningstedt and Westerland. The longer journey to Westerland/ZOB costs €6.40 per adult one way across four fare zones and takes about 38 minutes on direct daytime services; trips routed through List's west-beach stops take longer. Prices checked 2026-09-08. Use the return timetable for the precise branch you take.

For the local harbour outing, Erlebniszentrum Naturgewalten is about 200 metres from the List/Hafen bus stop, with an approach along the promenade; this measures the walk from the bus stop, not from a tender pontoon. For a taxi excursion south, Sylt Tourism gives approximately €35 one way from List harbour to central Westerland (checked 2026-09-08) and recommends ordering the car to the harbour in advance.

A trip to Westerland requires a return bus journey before the boat back to the ship. Choose a destination for a reason — a particular walk or visit — rather than riding to the end of the route and hoping time remains. For a limited call or uncertain boat operation, staying around List is the simpler plan.

SVG uses low-floor buses. The boat transfer is a separate part of the route from the harbour bus journey.

Things to Do

Erlebniszentrum Naturgewalten: the exhibition covers Sylt's development, coastal protection, climate and the wildlife of the Wadden Sea. It sits by the harbour and is a useful indoor main visit. The Syltdome film experience has separate ticket choices; check what the selected admission includes instead of assuming every film is part of the exhibition ticket.

Harbour time: the restaurants and small shops in the Alte Tonnenhalle can fill the remaining time without committing to another departure. Keep the return landing identifiable when leaving the waterfront.

A bus excursion: if you want to leave List, make that the main outing. The west-coast stops shown on SVG's network are distinct from List/Hafen; choose the branch serving your intended stop.
